This week I want to give you some dating tips for succeeding with women:

Where Are You?

Be on time. Lateness is a fault with no redeeming features. If it takes you an hour to get ready for a date, give yourself an hour and a half. However, if your date shows up late, don't let it spoil the evening. They might have a good explanation for their tardiness. If they apologize, give them the benefit of the doubt and be forgiving. If they don't apologize, you can hold a grudge. (Believe me, some girls don't even show up for me.)

Start With A Smile

If you can begin with the exchange of warm, relaxed smiles, you have a lot going for you. A genuine smile can be infectious and lead to a comfortable atmosphere. This can be doubly important on a date, when both parties are in knots wondering whether they're giving off a good vibe.

No News Is Bad News

Read a newspaper or watch a news program that day so you will have something to talk about and sound as if you know what is happening in the world. But don't sound as if you're trying to impress your date. Let the conversation flow naturally in and out of topics. Be yourself and talk to your date as if you're sharing an interesting tidbit with your closest friend.

Let the Good Times Roll

If you are having a good time, let it be known. Most likely, your date is also sweating bullets wondering whether they've passed the first-impression inspection with you. The evening becomes a sure-fire hit when both parties are relaxed and know that the date is going well.

Calm Down

First dates are nervous times, and people tend to over-compensate for their nervousness by talking far more than they normally would. They ask a question then don't listen to the answer because they're too busy trying to think up the next question. Relax and try to be yourself. You don't need to lead the whole conversation because your date will likely carry her part just fine. Talk to your date as if they're a new friend who you enjoy listening to as much as you do talking to.

Flattery Will Get You Everywhere

The best idea is to pick up on something unusual to compliment them on. Women have undoubtedly heard "your eyes are really beautiful, you know" before, so take a good look at your date and discover what's unique about her. Maybe she has expressive hands or a beautiful complexion or an outfit that's well put together. Compliments like that will score high points and make your date think that you have more sophisticated taste yourself.

Watch That Wandering Eye

Don't scope out other people in the room or the room itself. If you are easily distracted and prone to doing this, go 20 minutes early to your meeting place to satisfy your roaming eye and inquiring mind.

Be Aware of Your Body Language

The easiest position to assume while standing is with your arms crossed, but this gives the signal that you are closed in and not particularly willing to reach out to the person in front of you. If you're not carrying anything that gives you a place to put your hands, use your hands while you're talking or put one hand in a pocket. Resist the urge to scratch your ear. Try not to shift your weight around too much or else they'll think you are either very restless or that you need a bathroom pronto.

That Don't Impress Me Much

Trying to dazzle a lady with your bouncer connections at the clubs or a play-by-play of how you suped up your car is not the way to a lady's heart. Though some women actually enjoy that kind of machismo, many are turned off by it, so you are taking a big chance. On another note, if your date brings up a subject that you know nothing about, don't be afraid to admit it. You can offer what you do know and then let them do the talking.

Be Considerate

Ask your date if they mind you smoking before you light up. Skip the hunting stories with a vegetarian. Don't hog the umbrella, even if it's yours and you're carrying it. When the waiter or waitress asks how you are doing, ask your date before answering "Great, never better."

Two's Company

Even if you are both single parents, family oriented and looking for a long-term relationship, you want to get to know each other first before introducing the kids. The most important thing in a relationship isn't that they care for your kids, but that they care for you. Of course it's important in the long run, but get to know your date first before they get to know your children.

Where to Go?

Offer options when asking someone out. Options make you sound organized without being rigid. Pick activities that you both enjoy, don't pick something you hate just because you think the other person will like it. Remember this is your date too and if you don't have a good time, it'll show.

Specific tips:

Pick Activities That You Can Afford - Follow up an expensive first date with a coffee date and she may be disappointed. Follow up a weekend lunch date and a walk in the park with a mid-priced dinner date and she'll wonder where you've been all her life.

Go Where You Can Talk - A coffee house, relaxing lounge or a jog in the park are conversation-inducing dates that are perfect for getting to know someone. Comedy clubs or loud nightclubs should be saved for when you have gotten to know somebody and just want to do something fun together. Contrary to popular practice, movies do not make good first dates. Surely you didn't ask that person out because you wanted to sit for two hours, not look at them and come out of the theater having learned absolutely nothing new.

Pick Places That Are Easy To Get To - Make sure that both of you can find your way there and that you have a specific meeting spot. Consider bad weather and parking availability.

Who Pays?

The person who asks, pays. The other person offers but does not insist on it. No fights to the death. It's charming to offer, but don't push it, just be willing to make the date next time.

Are you limiting your chances for finding love and romance because of your fear of rejection when trying to meet single women or approaching them? This is a common fear and a big obstacle in taking action to meet those women you desire.

The problem is that you build up so much anxiety that it creates fear. The actual rejection is actually not that big of a deal. It's the self-induced fear and anxiety created by your own mind is the problem. Sometimes our mind is our worst enemy.

Put things in perspective. So what, if you're rejected by someone that you hardly know. Chances are you'll never see her again anyway. Just put the rejection behind you and not take it seriously and don't dwell on it...get over it! If you're going to play the dating game, getting rejected is just part of the game whether you like it or not.

Not every woman you meet or approach is going to be receptive to your advances. The main thing is to keep on trying and never give up! Sooner than you think you'll meet a woman who likes you and will be receptive to your advances.

There's another disadvantage of being afraid that women will reject you and that is giving women power over you. They have the upper hand over you and ruling your emotions. You must not let this happen! You are the captain of your own ship. You are in charge of everything that happens to you. You have the power to react or choose not to react when you get rejected. You're much better off not reacting at all.

You must keep another fact in mind when you get rejected. She has every right to say no to you. And you have the right to say no to others. It's your choice. We all have the freedom to accept or reject anyone.

In closing, accept rejection as the price you have to pay until you meet someone who likes you and is attracted to you. Rejection is just a risk that you have to take if you want to succeed with women.
